The Kōtuku in NZ nest in only one location - near Whataroa on the West Coast. Visiting the sanctuary is a real treat and highly recommended - even for non photographers! In fact for photographers it can be a bit stressful as there is so much activity you don’t know where to point the lens. Images of Kōtuku captured during a recent visit to the sanctuary and then creatively edited to change the backgrounds using textures and blending.
